Could someone help me identify my Hayward pump?

I need to change the seal plate, but I can't seem to find what model I have exactly. I believe it's a Super II, but I can't home in on the correct model # to find the correct parts I need.

Thank you in advance, I genuinely appreciate the users in this forum.

I forgot to include this information, but I changed the pump housing gasket and it's still leaking quite a bit. I made sure to use magic lube as well.

The employee at the pool store told me that if it doesn't work after the gasket replacement, it's possible the housing gasket could be warped. He mentioned some other possibilities that I cannot remember.

Once I find the correct model number (and make sure the gasket I was sold is indeed the correct size), what are the next steps I should take? We plan on investing in a variable unit, but need this pump to last at least another year as we work on other house repairs and renovations.

Thank you again! I hope you all have a great weekend.

Likely a Hayward Super II 1.5hp. If you notice on the inyo site, there are VSP motors available for this pump...

Thank you. It appears so. I also commented with additional information if you have a moment to take a look if possible. I genuinely appreciate the help.

Not sure what you are asking. I'd start with the right go-kit and rebuild. If that doesn't work, then the seal plate or volute may be warped. Was the pump run dry? Any other condition that preceded the leak?

For me, it may be better to just bite the bullet and get a VSP. The Calimar 3.0HP VSP for ~500$ might be a good solution.

Ah, I'm so sorry! I was reading the other thread for information and mistakenly replied there.

So something such as this?

Nidec Neptune NPTT165 motor will bolt to that pump and you will have a VSP, though a small one.

Mama said there’d be days like this…

Probably best at this point to get a new pump. That is an old pump…
Just wanted to give you an update. After getting several quotes, it seems that the best price is $1400 for a Hayward MaxFlo XE VS 1.65 pump (including install).

The father-in-law wants to essentially gift us a salt system, but generally, how pricey are the cell replacements? I'm sure it can vary wildly, but I don't want to spend $500+ every few years, although I do need to take the rising costs of tablets and chlorine into account.

For a Circupool RJ-30plus, new cell is $600.

I'd still get it. It is the cheapest form of chlorine on a per FC basis. Especially in S. Florida.

If you keep your CSI slightly negative (-.3 to 0), do not clean them with acid, an don't run 24/7 at 100%, the cell should last more than a few years.

My RJ is clean as a whistle, still generates what it did when I got it. It paid back over liquid or pucks last year...at that is with the full price of the unit, not just the cell.

Take the gift, and take care of your chemistry and the cell and it should last a long time...
