Sorry trying to DIY this and I think I got it narrowed down. My jacuzzi is back flowing to the pool when the pumps turn off the last few days which causes the pool to take the extra water and then dump the water because it’s too full. The jacuzzi is low ( down about 4-12 inches depending on the day) after this happens, next day pool kicks on again and the jacuzzi fills up/ rinse repeat. So needless to say I’m losing a lot of water daily because of this. I talked with a pool pro who said it’s the valve not functioning correctly.

Am i good to go to just buy a new one and is it easy to unscrew and pop the new one in screw it on and connect the electrical wire and good to go?

It’s a Pentair valve…see pics.

Any advice would be great. I have it in service mode so i don’t keep losing water daily.

Welcome!

The valve with the clear lid is called a check valve. It's designed to allow water flow in only one direction. There's a flapper inside that should seal one of the outlets. It should hold backflow from the spa. If it's defective, you'll see (and hear) water flowing backwards through the valve. Test it out and let us know what happens. Make sure the spa is full of water and shut down the pump. Look and listen.

When a spa is draining into the pool it is caused by a defective check valve in the return line. That is the square box in the bottom of the picture with the clear lid on it.

Your post seemed to ask about replacing the actuator on the diverter valve. Does that properly turn 180 degrees as you go from POOL mode to SPA mode?
