I am testing my water with a test kit for the first time and my chlorine levels are fine. When it comes to the acid demand test, it says to add a drop at a time until the color reaches the 7.4 pH indicator. I have currently put 17 drops, and it is still not the color it should be. Does that mean that my pool is in high demand for acid?

Don't you have a regular pH drop test? I have never used an acid demand test and TFP I don't think recommends it.

Great! Ph is fine, chlorine is fine, so I’m good to go.
Fwiw, the acid demand test is a way to estimate the pH when its out of range on the comparator block. You add drops to get it to read 7.4 and that kinda tells you how much acid youde need to reach 7.4.
