Hello. I am experiencing the same issue . Taylor 2006c test kit. At about the 29ish mark, the color is decidedly purple. At around the 35-40 mark - then I notice it turns blue. Can I count the point where it turned blue as my CH hardness or is the fact that it is going from red to purple and then blue indicating that my results aren't accurate? Also - I saw you all mention the speedstir...do you use this only for CH or for all tests that you do? Thanks!

See the Notes section.
Thanks. I had seen the interference video before and tried to follow directions but same thing. Purple until around 40ish. I'll try at 10mm as I had done this as wtmm. Maybe that will help.

Did the test at 10ml. Turned purple and then a few drops later turned to blue. Added the regent before hand per notes. Question though. If I count the pre drops and all of the drops until blue. Even though it turns purple.before blue is the ch still accurate or is it inaccurate since it turned purple.

Hmm. Had the water tested at Leslie's. Ch was at 189? Then again they also said ph was at an 8 but when I tested it was 7.6. Very frustrating.

It is accurate. Count all drops of the R0012 for the final CH level.

Pool stores never test CH levels correctly. Quit going to pool stores.
