I have a very small leak where the waste pvc pipe meets the valve union. It’s pretty insignificant at this time so I don’t want to call the PB for $150 to swap in a new 5inch pvc waste pipe. Can I just buy some JB weld for pvc pipe around the union there for a quick fix? Thanks

No valve is shut off to the waste which makes me think it could be going bad too

Is this a diverter valve or a multi-port valve? If it's a diverter valve, I would check around the valve more closely for a leak. Check around the shaft and the valve top cover. It seems unlikely it would be leaking at the pipe joint. If it is leaking there, with the valve shut off, then the internal diverter needs to be replaced.
