Folks, my pool that is under construction has pool pump Arrangement that is a little different than normal. The main pump is a 5 HP Pentair commercial pump and I have a separate dedicated pump just to run the filter. I would like to use one of the inexpensive Dohenys variable speed pumps. In normal operation it requires you press the Run button to start the pump which doesn't work very well with my automation. However they describe an external only mode control in the manual with no definition of what this is how to invoke it. Does anybody have one of these pumps and can you provide some information about how it works? I would like to be able to turn power on and off with my automation and just have it start at a default speed that I can set. Then turn the pump off after a period of time.is
Any help would be much appreciated.

Chris

Chris, do you have a link to the Doheny pump manual you have?

Allen,
I've searched high and low for a pump that just uses the v-green century motor. Seems like there used to be several and now they are all powered by a motor I'm not familiar with. I did find a clue on how to deal with this using an automation adapter like this. Looks to be one that just adapts to digital inputs for several pumps including Harris, Blue Torrent, Black and Decker. Have you read about anyone using it?

Do you have a V-Green motor? On what pump? They don't come standard on any of the pumps available, but are replacement motors.

Yep, that's what I'm finding... too bad it's a great motor with multiple ways to control. I bought one as a replacement for my old Jandy 2 speed pump on the previous pool. Seems like

Thanks Allen! Do any of you have a link to it? The one I've found appears to simply replace the panel then has connector for 5v and 3 digital inputs.
