Question -
The inner ring of my pool ladder anchor assembly broke and now the bolt/wedge portion is completely free of the assembly. Will the bolt/wedge still work to keep the ladder in place?
Thank you,
BH

If you’re referencing the inner ring that captures the bolt/wedge in its sleeve being broken then yes the wedge will still hold the ladder in place. It will be fiddly to get in and out, but the wedge will still perform…..assuming you line everything up and seat the ladder fully in the anchor with the wedge in its correct orientation.

How about a pic of the broken anchor ?
Here you go. My thought is it it will still work regardless, but I was wondering if anyone had come across this before. We don't even really need the ladder, so I was debating on just not even trying to put it in this year.

Thank you. I figured that was the case, but appreciate the confirmation!

Mine both broke and I cut plastic / composite shims into skinny strips and wedged them in there around the rail.

You won't be able to pull the wedge up unless you use a spanning washer.

You need a flat piece of steel with a hole.

The anchor is aluminum, which is a bad idea because it becomes a sacrificial anode to everything on the bonding grid.

The anchor cup is basically destroyed.

If the inside of the cup is corroded, the wedge will not have anything to push against and it will not work.
That's why I made my own wedges. The cups are deep so as long as there is meat down there then you can wedge it yourself. Within a couple of weeks there will be enough evaporated sediment to glue them in place and be a female dog to remove in the fall. :ROFLMAO:
