Our replaster prep starts tomorrow. The pool light is very old, dead, ugly, not repairable, and replacing is costs way too much to be feasible. So we're trying to figure out if there's any way to cover it up or camoflage it. Our PB is trying to locate a better looking dead one from other customers to bring over and sub for ours but has no other ideas. I'd appreciate any creative thoughts about this....there must be a way to cover the light, even paint it so that it's rendered invisible instead of looking like a black eye. Thanks.

There are metal covers available that you could employ if you desire. Matching the color to your new plaster could take some creative ingenuity and field fabrication. It would seal the niche but keep it future serviceable if at some point you wanted to dig into a full on repair.

Thanks. There are no specs on that part so don't know if it will fit. Can call tomorrow.

I wish it was that simple. Problem is the light is at the far end of the pool 50-60 ft from power, the light cord is stuck solid and they would have to dig through the concrete deck to get to the conduit to replace it. The PB offered the option of installing a junction box immediately behind the light end of the pool but that would require burrowing through the deck as well and there's still the problem of running power to it. The PB said it could run $2000, maybe more depending on how thick the concrete was, and I don't know if that included the light or not.

The link I posted appears to be a lexan cover for a vinyl lined pool. More details with specs can be seen here

I’d suggest calling Frank Wall for assistance in sourcing a metal one. They’re quite helpful. Inyo pools or your pool builder may be able to assist in finding one as well. I’m struggling to turn up a metal one via search this morning.
