New Build - DFW

We ran just over 100' thru the our house. Used Tracpipe CounterStrike corrugated stainless gas piping. Was able to get it thru the house with only one fitting/union. Had the gas company install a 2psi meter, ran 2psi in this line thru the house, to a step down regulator at the pool heater. I can add pictures of both the meter side and the heater side if you would like.

Thanks for the offer, but they dropped of all the equipment first thing this morning including the Aqucal Heat/Chill so i imagine its a little late for me to ask the PB to return it and that i am considering gas.

I've had very similar work performed many times here in Florida. There are cost effective materials certified for direct burial. They're very easy to do. 100' is about a half day to trench, install the pipe, and add the tracer wire plus set up a pressure test kit for inspection. Your PB will likely get his gas sub to do this and mark that up also. But probably better for him to do it this way. Some will make you go to a 2 psi meter but my experience is this isn't usually needed.

Sounds like it. PB's don't like late changes for good reason. You can always do this later as a separate OB project!

Soliciting feedback on decking. We were originally going going with turf all around but now thinking of adding 96 sq ft (6x16ft) of the marble we used for coping at the entrance of the pool. Should we consider doing this or just stick with having turf all over. We plan on putting some furniture etc near the steps either directly on the turf or stone. We do have young toddlers if that makes a difference. Going to ask PB if we can forego extending the retaining wall to save ($1k).

Its personal preference, but I like patio furniture to be on a hard surface.... so if you are planning on putting furniture there my vote would be the marble.

We prefer sand set pavers around the pool. Makes it a little easier to cheap grass cuttings and dirt from getting in the pool. I'm sure there are good reasons others choose to do the opposite. This is all about personal preference as points out.

So just noticed rust stains in the shotcrete at one end. Is this a big deal to get fixed and will this create long term rust stain issues seeping through the pebble plaster?

They should acid wash before adding waterproof/bond coat. So shouldn't be a problem but I would check carefully for any rebar that's protruding or close to the surface. If you have this they should cut and paint with rustproof paint before the first coat. Normally you won't have any rebar that close because most inspectors will fail it for this before gunite. But there are some areas in the photos from before where the rebar appeared pretty close to the surface around the skimmer for example. Appearance from a photo can also be tricky so it might not have been as close as it looked to me.
