Timer control for Pentair UltraTemp 1200

A WiFi timer has two sides.

The input power that can be 120V or 240V and powers the timer and WIFi controls.

And the relay side which opens and closes on the WiFi commands. The relay contacts can be rated for low voltage or high voltage. You just need a low voltage rated relay for the POOL-COM circuit but a higher voltage rated relay will work.
Nothing disables the UltraTemp controls but using two sets of controls often confuses people.

If you can keep it straight it should work for you.

What the UltraTemp will not do is turn itself on when the WiFi control is off.
Thanks, thatʻll work just fine - I wanted to make sure I wasnʻt bypassing the UltraTemp thermostat and low flow controls. And I do understand the difference between contact rating and coil voltage - I was just having trouble finding a relay that I could easily get here in Hawaii and that ran on 24v coil voltage. Iʻll use the Shelly on 240v and be done with all this overthinking <g>...

Thanks kindly for the support and suggestions. I got this working with the Shelly relay - I put in a simple schedule and confirmed that it switches the heat on and off correctly. In retrospect I wish Iʻd bought 24v relays, but itʻs working fine on a 240v thoʻ the wiring wasnʻt as smooth to do. Now to clean it up and move on. I have to order things like right angle and piggyback spade connectors online; itʻs hard to find many things locally in Hawaii.

Is there any standardization for Smart Home automation? I couldnʻt get the Shelly relay to work on the eWeLink app, and couldnʻt get the Sonoff relay to work on the Shelly app. We also just recently got a PV solar installation up and running and Hawaii is likely to move to Time-of-Use residential billing, so Iʻm getting interested in home automation of items that are big power users. I already have 2 Alarm.com ZWave thermostats, and neither app seems to be able to recognize them. It would be nice to get various control devices to sit under the same umbrella.

Speaking for myself, I use Alexa routines for control and to bring different apps together. I try to stick with relays that use the ewelink app for the pool. It allows me to set up a dashboard just for the pool and shown here.

The app below is pretty popular. It's above my head though.
