Moved into this house a year ago. In one section the coping is pulled away from the concrete, it was packed with dirt and acorns and was growing grass. I power washed all the junk out, but am not sure what to do with it. The liners in good shape, no leaks. I’m not sure how the coping is mounted, to the wall or is it cast into the concrete surround? Any tips appreciated!IMG_1795.jpeg

Dirt may have sunk down in the joint making it hard to move back to where it needs to be. How flexible does it feel?

Welcome to TFP.

That white strip is not really coping. It is a trim strip on top of the pool wall. If the trim strip did not seperate from the wall then either the pool wall shifted or the deck moved.

In Texas, with lots of expansive soil, my guess is the deck shifted.

You are not going to get them back together without pouring a new deck.

That’s what I was afraid of. It doesn’t look like any of the deck has shifted, I’m guessing the walls moved in. Would just filling in the gap be a terrible idea?

Fill with what? That is a wide and deep gap.

This is the relevant part of the picture -

That pool wall is not straight and that corner is shifted. The wall buckled at some point in the past. The deck is not the issue, it’s the pool wall.

Hopefully the patch gives you some time to save because when that liner needs to be changed, my guess is that wall is compromised and there will need to be some major repairs done.
