We’ll be having our gunite pool resurfaced this spring, and need to upgrade our pole and brush in anticipation of the daily brushing. Looking at the Pro Tuff, but worried that even the 16’ may be too short (our deep end is about 10’). Any recommendations for top quality equipment that won’t fall apart and that will help make our brushing chore a little more tolerable? Thanks in advance!

Pro Tuff brush is great.
Best pole you will buy. Had mine for 20+ years and it still works. No moving parts. Eliptilock 3-piece pole. Not inexpensive, mine was $75.00 at the time, but worth it. Don't let the small-diameter inner portion fool you, it is very strong.

I upgraded to a ProTuff brush a few months ago, and it's been great. It's a quality investment on a tool you use frequently.

ProTuff? ProTuff?!? Phhht. Sure, they're strong, but are they very easy to extend? Oh, uh, yah, they are. Well that explains why I bought a second one!! (Long one for brushing, shorter one for the net.)

And their lifetime warranty means these are the last two I'll ever buy.

Let me put it this way. I've used probably most of the different ones available through stores. Wether it be the style with a tightening collar or the one which I thought was a step up with the clamp type, you extend it, lock it, proceed to brush hard and then almost fall in to the water when the locking mechanism give out. Even the one lowes was selling that indexes via some pin, well that is good while it worked and then the spring would get stuck and not work any more. I have one customer with an older pool which came along with the house purchase and so did the pool accessories. He has a single length of maybe 12 foot thicker aluminum pole which every time I used it was a pleasure as it felt solid without a worry of it collapsing what ever you did to it. A good pole is a good pole. The warranty on them is usually a parts bag with a new mechanism with instructions. People have complained they wanted a new complete pole when they received only a parts bag but I think that's fine with me should I have a problem down the road.

You'll love your new ProTuff. Mine came with an adapter for threading things on to it. A very nice bonus. And an offer for a discount. Watch for that. It'll come in an amazing cardboard tube that was hard to throw away. The kind of thing you'll have a great use for someday, but can't think of what it might be just now, and can't really store. I had to cut mine up for the garbage. It hurt me, but it had to be done! ☹️

I have mine mostly hidden behind a couple bushes and my air conditioner. I made some hangers out of 4" ABS pipe, which should outlast the stucco!

I was a bit worried about the afternoon sun on the [very comfortable] rubber grips, so I sliced up some 3" PVC drain pipe I had laying around for some extra protection from the UV.

I bought a second one because I'm lazy and didn't want to hassle switching attachments, just wanted to grab-n-go. The short one is a bit too short for sweeping my deep end, and the long one is a bit too unwieldy for skimming the surface (if I'm forced to come up with an excuse for the second one, instead of the real reason). I think you'll find the long one is fine for your deep end. (Wish I had a 10' deep end!! Nice!)
