I am looking online and there are dozens of clones of each other and they all seem to be the same garbage that eventually melt and fall apart in people's hot tubs.

Do quality replacement Type VI filters exist or do I just get the trash and replace them on a very regular basis?

Back when I had an intex pool with the terrible filters there were more robust & easily washable pleatco filters available online- not sure if they have em for those spas but maybe worth looking into.
I use the clarathon replacement filters for my permanent hot tub & they’ve held up just fine (i’ve rotated between 2 different ones for the past 5 years) not sure if they’re totally the same makeup for the little spas or not.
Spa depot has a filter finder.

Looks like they do have a part that matches:

Is this the same, of course the shape is going to be different and smaller I assume, as to what you are talking about?

They do look about like mine- hard to really tell the quality from a picture.
if you order them let us know how it turns out. There’s quite a few here with those type spas. The reviews seem pretty positive.

The measurements and part numbers all match so I ordered a set and will report back in a few days with a comparison when they arrive.

All right, so if anyone is wondering everything showed up and I have the new Type VI filters on hand..

From left to right it's the original that came with the hot tub, the generic replacement off of Amazon, and the Clarathon replacement. The original still has the densest and most number of pleats.

Original on top, generic in middle, Clarathon Type VI at the bottom.

It feels better made, hard to tell really though until they get used, which wont be until Thanksgiving later this year with how things are heating up in Florida. Hot tub season is just about over.

It felt better made so I decided to weigh them to see.

It's almost 30 grams heavier. Does that mean better quality? Feels like it, but still needs to be tested. Not sure how helpful this is, just wanted to report back in that I got them and they seem decent.
