Hello. These rust marks have started to appear along the bottom of my pool. Could these possibly be from the rebar given their shape/size? If so, is there any major concern? It's not ideal, but I can live with it from an aesthetic perspective. I am more concerned about whether it is something critical that needs to be addressed. The pool is four years old.

Rebar tends to be laid out in a grid pattern, which means that the lines will tend to be parallel or perpendicular.

Yours looks like maybe a grid, but not exactly.

Maybe it's just pieces of metal that fell in the pool.

Try a strong magnet on a string to see if it sticks to the spots or if it picks up metal pieces.

Thank you. I had the same thought regarding the lack of any direct pattern. The only other thing I can think of is that they are building a new ADU on our neighbor's property about 15 feet away from pool edge so it could be nails or screws. I haven't picked anything up in my robot, though. I would prefer it being an external material (nail, screw), as opposed to rebar.
