Would removing the robot from the pool after cleaning prolong its life? I assumed chlorine degrades internal plastic parts. To be honest, I don't think that there is anything that you can do that will prolong the life of the robot.. Obviously, the less you use it the longer it 'should' last, but we have members here that use their robots in the same way, and some of their robots have failed after 2 or 3 years and others have lasted 6 or 7 years.
I'm in the market for a robot cleaner and plan to leave my Polaris 280 daily schedule, then use the robot to clean once/week to get a good scraping (this may be shortsighted, per my initial question).
BTW, tracking down a Dolphin S200 to buy isn't straightforward. I gravitate to Amazon to avoid high-pressure sales of my local Leslie/Poolwerx stores, but it's not available at Amazon.
Moved from here.
