Hi everyone- I can’t find the original poster’s thread I got this idea from, to give him (her) credit… but found a fix for my new automatic pool robot vacuum always getting stuck on the deep end drain covers- and seems to have stopped (almost always) it flipping over in the pool…

The OP showed a piece of pool noodle he’d zip-tied on the handle.

I didn’t have a noodle but gave me an idea… I took a piece of the dense foam shipping packing my robot vac came in- zip tied it on the handle- was too buoyant - so cut off piece by piece until it would still sink when placed - would still climb the walls etc.

Has been over a week- Is working great! Thought I was going to have to return “Sven”… he’s good to go, now!

Edited to add what kind “Sven” is- he’s the AirRobo PC100- got him on sale on Amazon- will attach screenshot of the page…

This pool robot is in on sale and you’re the only one I’ve seen post about it. How do you like it?

Are you being sarcastic and trying to insult me?
Under no circumstances. I have been keeping my eyes peeled for a robot that can hold up *and* not do a terrible job, for 2 years. So far, most of the existing brands are 0 for 2. I also refuse to spend near or over $1000 on newer devices that are unknown, so a $400 robot (with the sale) is a strong contender and possibly worth the risk.

I insult you not. I am saluting you for finding it and hope to hear more thoughts about it from anyone who has one.

It’s cordless and the reviews for most cordless units haven’t been great
Exactly. Most members sent their smorobots and aepiers back. Somebody just tried the Seauto and it had issues near walls and would return to the spot it screwed up over and over so it got sent back too.

All 3 (like the one you found) should be nearing $1000 but have more or less always been on sale, I believe, because they aren't selling at MSRP and the start up companies are doing whatever they can to get the product out there in the world.

Again, I'd consider being a beta tester for $400. No way in Heck I'd do it at $799+.

The Wybots are similarly discounted now too, but I don't recall anyone having one yet, much less several positive reviews.

Agree with everything. I have an Aiper Orca 1200 that worked flawlessly until the month after warranty expired and they are refusing to even help me troubleshoot it. I MIGHT consider buying it again but it was $599 with $100 off coupon 2 years ago and now same price, no coupon. Can’t afford $600+ as I’m low income and lucked out with pool for therapy
