So I just turned on my filter for the first time we just got the pool up a few days ago and got the pump system together as we turned the pump on I noticed 2 small leaks a very small drop from the top of the pump and a small drip from the skimmer is that okay? And second I added chlorine tabs last night and woke up to a green pool so I added shock today what else could I do ?

Welcome to TFP! The two drips are probably okay for the rest of your season. Maybe about 30 more days or so? I'm assuming you will disconnect those lines anyway as part of the winterization closing process. So for those I'd just keep an eye on them for now.

As for the green water, are you on a well? Also tell us how you are testing the water and if you can provide a full set of water test results. That will be key for us to know what's going on with that water.

So the drips are okay, cool thanks for that and yes ur right only about 30 days left in the season if that. Now we also found another issue the psi gauge is not moving at all it’s staying at 0 when we turn the pump on like it’s broking or something ? Any suggestions

That depends on the pump speed. When my pump is on a low speed, the needle doesn't move up at all. Only when I have my pump on high do I see the needle move.

I would encourage you to toss the test strips and get a reliable test kit next season. Test strips are simply horrible and have no accuracy at all.

Hard for anyone to guess, as not only does the order of what each test on the strip is vary from brand to brand, color changes happen both due to the camera used, and reproduction when seen on the web. So, accuracy of the strips aside, what numbers do you best judge them to be, and for what?
EVERYONE here hates it, but as an alternative you could go to a pool store for testing. But most also have terrible track records for anywhere near true results, and NEVER buy whatever they try to sell, without consulting here first!
What chemicals do you have on hand, right now?

Thanks everyone for your help we found the issue !! It was so stupied we had the vaccum piece inside the skimmer blocking the pool from sucking the water in so that’s why my needle on my pump wasn’t pulling anything in and my needle wading moving not enough pressure we have since removed that piece and my water is crystal clear and my needle stays at a range of 10-15
