Hello. I have 2 questions about TA test.

First, at the 5th drop, the sample turns a light pink, then on 6th drop turns a little darker (or red, I guess). Would the end result then be 50 or 60?

Second, I've read here that a lower TA will keep PH from rising. I lowered it to 60, and it has kept my PH consistently at 7.8. But now I don't clearly know if it's 50 or 60. Question is, if it is 50, is that too low? I felt more comfortable when it was clear it was 60.

Plus, I like that it's keeping my PH down, just not liking the way it lowers CSI to -0.49.

Thank you!

60. Bright Barbie pink I call it. If you were to add a 7th drop with no change, then you know if was the 6th.

50 is fine, but no lower.

Post a complete set of test results that show how your CSI gets to -0.49
FC - 7.5
PH- 7.8
TA - 50 (but Texas Splash just confirmed it's 60, so that'll help bring it to -0.39)
CH - 150
CYA - 30
CSI - -0.49
I need to add stabilizer, but also raising CYA will lower CSI. And I know CH is low, but this (attachment) is the response I got from my pool manufacturer about their suggestion of CH (80-120).
🤷‍♀️

Your numbers are quite good. Unless you have a waterline tile, there is no need to be overly concerned with CSI. The CH helps serve as a buffering type agent to minimize some types of staining. Once you get the CYA increased you should be in good shape.
