I think the boxes got rained on because all the boxes were crumbled and most of the jugs were stand alone zip tied together to sell as packs. Picked the 4 best looking jugs and home we went. Set them in my “storage” area out of sun in between a storage chest and closet shed. Came home today and noticed some discoloration on the cement in storage area. Got closer and saw one of the jugs had leaked about a quarter out. Had an old pool brush sitting next to the jugs. Below is the result.

Oh quit blaming the MA, that is classic saltwater damage. My PB said that would happen and hooked me up with a good deal on a UV mineral injector with turbo ozone sanitation so I don't need harsh chemicals and keep my chlorine <1.

My apologies. After some research on facebook I have seen the light and will be disonnecting my cell/draining/and flushing with pure evian water for fill. Thank you. But I will correct you on one thing in that you never mentioned essential oils...a good essential oil blend is really all you need.

Two questions:
1) How do you float the MA when putting it in the pool?
2) My storage options are in the garage, in the house (I know I know, never gonna happen), or somewhere out in the open on my property. Any suggestions on the best place?

I store my bottle in a 5 gallon bucket with the lid on. MA bottles have vented lids so don't store it anywhere near metal or other chemicals.

If by float you mean what I was talking about up top, I just put the lid on and tied it to the corner return in the deep end. Its nothing I do normally but in this instance I didn't feel like pouring it into another random container when I'm just going to pour some in tomorrow or next day. I've had my pool for 6 years now and this is the first time I've had a "deal" with one of the containers. I just store them outside near the pool shed out of direct sun and where nobody is going to disturb them on accident.

As a newcomer, where might one acquire themselves this type setup if you don’t mind sharing? My new plaster pool has an insatiable appetite for MA so his would help while increasing my safety. Two things I am all about.

Edit: if you buy the containers separate from the MA, where do you get them both?

I have a local pool and hot tub shop here in Tucson that sells both liquid chlorine and muriatic acid in 4-up refillable containers. You pay a down payment on the safety carrier and then you simply swap out your old bottles for new ones when you purchase the next round. They sell to pool service techs a lot so that’s why they are in 4-ups. You’d have to find a local shop or HASA retailer that doesn’t the same.

I have a little Rubbermaid resin box with a cover, in the shade, that stores the MA outside

I couldn’t fit more than one bottle in the bucket and this fits 2-3.

I don't doubt that this is the more economical way to go about it, but I am leery of my ability to safely dispense MA from a full container like that. I find the gallon sized container pretty easy to pour at a slow steady pace in front of my returns. Do you have any tips on using the large safety containers, or what has your experience been with them?

They are 4 1 gallon jugs, I use the same for my chlorine
 
why bother with the larger jugs. the one gallon jugs are just to handy to use to change to something larger., besides you are already calibrated to the jug when you add it. I do it the easy way and add the gallon all at once.
$3- $4 a gallon jug in the paint department at Mendards.

They aren't larger jugs lol 1 gallon jugs just the same 😂😂
 
Gotta be careful of paint dept MA these days. At least by us the big box and hardware stores only carry “green” MA in the paint department and the “regular” MA is outside in the pool supplies.
