Oops. How do i get the floc out without vacuuming to waste

So, it rained and mud ran into the salt water, inground, 33k gallon pool. Put some flocculent into the pool. Well, that was dumb because we have a cartridge filter. Did not know should not do that. We used the robot vacuum and it did get a bunch of mud out. Had to clean the catcher thing like 5 times, now it is not collecting anything. Water is a little cloudy but we can see the bottom. How do you know if the floc is out? How do you get it out since cannot vacuum to waste? If we just chalk it up and let it ruin the cartridges and buy new ones, will it screw up other parts of the filter? HELP
 
Welcome to TFP! :wave: I have a feeling your best alternative might be to vacuum into the filter like normal and replace the cartridge(s). The only other things I could think of are:
1 - Rent a sump pump and rig-up a vacuum to that out to waste.
2 - Cur your PVC line after the pump and before the filter just to install a valve to create a waste function.
