Is CSI more important than Ph?

Do I need to subscribe to log? I haven’t done that yet.
Yes, you do. You can store one log for free. Up to you.

Replacing the water in November answers the low CH number.

Test TA and pH every few days for awhile. Let the pH rise. It should not go above 8.2 or so with your TA. You might have to use the Acid Demand drops to monitor it with the K2006 comparator you have.

Be sure to never add baking soda to your pool. If your TA drops to 50 again, stop adding acid. The fill water TA will raise it quickly. And the pH cannot go above 8.2 or so with a TA that low.

Just upgraded and updated my log. Thank you for all the help. I’ll keep monitoring and see if/where it tops out. Will I damage anything with Ph that high? Thank you much for everything.

Only thing an elevated pH can cause is scale. You will see it first as flakes coming from the SWCG. That is a tell tale that your TA is too high (or CH, but you have a year or so before you worry about that).

No scale issues, but had flakes out of the jets. I’d add MA and it went away. What is your opinion on borates? I understand it won’t reduce my need for acid, but it just goes up so fast.

I bought boric acid a few years ago and have yet to add it!! I added a water softener for the pool so my CH does not rise very fast now so I have little problem with scale in my SWCG.

But in your case, it will stretch out the acid adding times. Say you add every 3 days, you might get a week or so between adds.

Dudadiesel is a good vendor for boric acid.

My TA was near zero after winter of battling Ph with little fill water (still had high Ph). Last weekend I added approx 8 lbs of baking soda to get it where it is. I can’t keep my Ph in check.
How sure are you the TA was zero? It’s be more likely that there was some testing error to get a reading like that.
