How can I repair this light without donating plasma?

I’ve started to use my pool after years of mistreatment I’m getting a routine in place and this website has been a godsend. I’m relegated to swimming at night because of a two year old and work and would like the use of the light. It has never worked and we’ve been here five years, there wasn’t a bulb inside when I pulled it and all the bolts literally turned to rusty mush sans one that held the glass/cover in place. Pinch a penny told me this could be replaced/repaired for $150.00 conveniently that’s also the diagnostic cost if they come out. I called another repair place and was quoted $1800.00 so a pretty large gap. Any idea what model housing this is or of a cost efficient replacement?

Looks like the Pentair Amerlite...

Check the dimensions...

Pentair Amerilite Dimensions.jpg

Costs $500-$600.

that’s not the unit that’s currently in it for sure but is that the most cost effective replacement?

You have to buy whatever light fits your niche.

What are the dimensions of what you have?

Lots of lights looks similar. Without labels it will be a guessing game.

Let's see what guesses @1poolman1 has.

Why do you say it is not a Pentair Amerlite?

Then it is probably a Hayward Astrolite...

Not Amerilite, even the old ones did not seal that way. Plastic face ring, orange cord (unless this is 12v), a lens that looks like Amerilite, gasket that is close to Amerilite, all indicate old Hayward AstroLight.
Pentair Amerilite, Hayward AstroLight (still made) or a light that will fit an Amerilite niche is the replacement. You can't safely repair a light fixture in that condition.
