I noticed this morning my SWG is running with the water temp at 49 degrees, no delay showing for cold water. The other morning there was a cold water delay with the pool water at 59 degrees. The only differnce I see is that this morning things are running in the freeze mode. Am I about to have a flow sensor go south?

Freeze mode is triggered by the Air temp probe. The cell cold shut off is triggered by the Water temp.
Neither probe is all that accurate.
I would not worry about it for now.

Is the purpose of shutting down the SWG below 52 degrees to protect the SWG or just that cooler water requires less FC?

Most likely the cell temperature sensor is going bad or is bad, which will affect the salinity calculation.
What is the salinity reading from the EasyTouch?

Sorry for the late response, right now it is in the cold water delay mode and when things warm up I will post that. I have a saltwater test kit so I will compare that reading.

The temp sensor in your flow switch may be 'bad', but in my mind this is not the time to fix it.
I find that all of my IC40s are not near accurate when the water temp is below 60 degrees.
This time of year, I'll get a 300 or 400 ppm difference in my salt level reading between the morning reading when it is colder and the afternoon reading when it is warmer.

Right now water temperature according to screenlogic 53 degrees and if doing the test as shown in the video from above it's reporting in that vicinity.
I will keep an eye on it to see what happens but when I see things that are not what I would have normally seen, I get suspicious. In this case I'm concerned about a flow switch going bad but in this weather I'm not terribly concerned due to the small amount of chlorine being consumed. I'm going away for a week and at my current level of approx 7ppm I think I would be OK if it failed during my time away.

You can always add liquid chlorine up to the cya threshold before you leave and consider it done and worry free.
