I could use some help, have a swcg gunnite pool with pebble finish. It's about 1 year old and never had any problems following this method. Recently I noticed the water getting Cloudy. I have an autocover and with the weather have had it closed most of the time. Chlorine levels have been on the high end of normal but nothing crazy. I also noticed over the last 2 months I haven't needed to add hardly any acid, not sure if that just because the pool is getting older or an issue. I opened my filter today to double check everything was set correctly and it is. My current numbers from today are below and a picture of the water in the filter. Any ideas?7D20C724-0392-49AA-AAC5-9FC818FDD46E.pngE9E828C6-A7C1-4F0B-9978-4B2426C873F4.jpeg

Welcome! When you say "chlorine levels on the high end", what are you referring to? Your pic shows the FC at 5 which is not high at all, so your reply would help to give us a better perspective of where you normally maintain the FC level. Your signature doesn't show which test kit you use or any of your equipment, so I would recommend updating that as well. In general, cloudy water commonly points towards algae, but your water is a bit chilly for a large algae outbreak. Not impossible, just would seem odd. It is possible you have a large amount of combined chloramines that require some sunlight to oxidize. On the next clear day, you might try pulling that cover back for a few hours to let the sun's UVs do some oxidizing.

Thanks, signature update, I use a TF-100 Kit, chloride is FAS-DPD drop test. It was up to 8 a few weeks ago and I've let it come down. My CC today was 0.5. I've left my cover off yesterday and today and am going to keep trying to see if that helps anything. I'm going to do a OCLT tonight to double check, but my swcg has been on 10% recently and my FC has stayed pretty stable so I doubt I'll fail.

Thanks for the help!

While the cover is off, can you take a picture of the pool water? This picture is of filtering side of the filter and looks like floating material that is a result of debris coming off the filter when you opened the cover...not cloudy water per say. Picture would really help.

OCLT went down 0.5 point, brushed this morning and no algae in any corners or tile. Hard to really get a good picture with the sun location these days
