“When you gotta go, you gotta go!”

The workers are capitalizing from the new screen for the pool equipment, and using that area as their bathroom.

Speaking of drainage - they didn’t tell me that the decking didn’t include drainage, so I am installing a French drain. The drain is going through that area they are using to pee and the smell is very strong, over powering the new cedar smell.

I “hosed it” down with water, sprayed the neutralizer I use for dog pee, even bought and tried insence but the smell is still there.

The PB hasn’t been very responsive to other requests, (once, a month went by without any work or communication). Plus I am empathic for the workers and don’t want them to get in trouble so I rather take care of this myself but so far not having any luck.

Although there are larger issues, I guess you could say this is a “number 1” concern.

Used a very specific pet urine neutralizer in my NYC apartment (prior owned used walk in closet as litter box, yuck...) Worked very well on bare concrete, but took several applications and about a month to fully neutralize it - but it really worked and I literally never smelled it again. (it was like a commercial product, had to drive to supply house in Queens to get it - wasn't something in stores... sorry I do not know the name.)

Thank you everyone.

I bought baking soda and applied it. It worked!

This build is getting worse and worse every week (maybe I should buy a “no dumping” sign?) but humor, empathy and TFP are keeping me sane. I am thankful for each of you.

Can confirm. This place single handedly kept me unincarcerated. Some days were questionable at best how they were gonna go
If having a pool built is this much trouble, I can’t imagine what building a house would be like.

As I sit here looking at my unplastered shell in November, I think how dumb I was to trust the sales guy/designer back in March. (Not sure how their reviews are mostly positive.)

But getting information from TFP, venting, and making jokes with fifth grader antics has helped me so much I can’t thank this community enough. Thank you!

You should pee out there now to assert dominance and mark your territory.

Edit- have to say of all the problems ive encountered on my own build and read on here about others, this isn't one I ever expected to read about lol.

Haha!

This is a “drop in the bucket” compared to the rest.

Last week the crew decided to move to my front yard to set up shop to cut tile. They left a mess, so my girlfriend and I cleaned it up on Saturday so the HOA didn’t say “ur in trouble.” When I was raking my rake got caught on something. It was wires for the irrigation they rerouted.

Today they capped the focal point of the pool with leuders stone and when I called about that they said that it wasn’t called out on the plan. (There isn’t leuders in any other part of the pool.) Then the designer/sales person called me. I thought he was going to let me know some good news about how it was going to be corrected. Nope, he called to thank me for being a good customer and let me know he just quit.

So yeah, a little pee isn’t so bad. Like Thomas Jefferson said, “Leuders stone is forever, but pee smell on your pool equipment is merely temporary. “
