Used a couple new products today. Bungee Plugs - If these hold they will be great. Last year I hooked up the Cyclone and after all the returns were bubbling, I called them off with a plug. I had to reach down into the water, while the air was blowing out and the pool water was being churned and splashing all over. By the time I got to the last return, the pressure was very high and the water worked were such that I got pretty wet while I struggled to get that last plug screwed in. This year, with the Bungee Plugs, I just screwed them in and turned on the Cyclone. Turned the Cyclone off once I’d seen enough bubbles and was all set. Very nice!

I also used the Skim Lock. It seals the water out of the skimmer. I don’t really trust that it will hold all winter, but it was nice to have the skimmer without any water in it while I blew out the plumbing. I have a pipe that I screw into the bottom of the skimmer and I blow the water out that way using a pipe that is about 1-1/2 foot long. With the water out of the skimmer, it was easier to make sure that pipe was screwed in well. I also threw a couple crunched up empty chlorine jugs in the skimmer to act like a Gizzmo, just in case water does creep back in there.

All in all, it was a lot easier to close this year since I have a bit more experience and a couple new gadgets that helped out a bunch.

Put the safety cover on with some help from my son in law and now all I need to do is organize my shed to store everything. I’ll do that after the leaves fall. For now, the pool area is clear and and the hard part is over. Thanks again to those who help me through another closing.

The first rodeo is a bit tricky, figuring out your preferred way with your setup. (With 57 ok choices 🤦‍♂️)

The second rodeo is cake and money in the bank. (y)

WELL done PB4 !!!
