I know my CYA is high at 100 and I've been having a hard time keeping our chlorine level at the appropriate level. I've been doing some testing on our FC and CC with our Taylor 2006c kit.
Thursday
FC .5
CC .5
So I added enough chlorine in the afternoon to get it to 9ppm when I tested at 10pm. (Friday)
I then took a sample of our water at 5:40am before the sun came out, took the sample indoors and tested a few hours later-FC 2.5 and CC .5.
I retested a new sample of the water at 11am and FC 1.5 and CC .5
(At one point the CC was at 1 but I got it down to .5)
Should I be SLAMing my pool? Is that why I can’t keep my chlorine level up? Eventually, I would like to drain my pool at least half ways to get the calcium and CYA down. For too long we’ve been relying on the pool store to test our water
The test results I’ve logged so far…
