This box has 2 buttons that push air through tubes to control an underwater treadmill made by Hudson Aquatics. It’s mounted as shown but it has picked up water and I have to replace it as water has made its way into the tubing. It arrives next week. I have decided to mount it on the pool deck, completely out of the water. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to mount this? I’m thinking some type of stainless steel or clear plastic that could be screwed into the coping and hold the box firmly just about 6 inches above where it is now. I have an automatic pool cover so I can’t have it sticking up above the waterline out in the pool water.

How is the box mounted to the tile now?

I would not put screws into the coping.

I would use silicone adhesive that would let you remove the box in the future. You don't want something permanent like construction adhesive.

I would be a bit concerned about the box getting kicked when mounted on the coping.

Thanks. I was primarily worried about putting screws into the coping so I won’t do that. The box is now held in place with two concrete screws through the back of the box. What do you think about putting two vertical pieces of stainless steel that could attached to the vertical wall through the same holes and then the box could be attached to these just so the box would be 4-6 inches above the water? That would require having the metal bent so it could go around the lip of the coping. I suppose aluminum would work as well? That way, the box would be inboard of the edge of the coping so less likely to be kicked. As I recall, the two screws holding the box now are like the ones shown in the photo but they might be a bit shorter. I could also put a second one below the first if needed to make it more secure. I definitely don’t want the screws to be below the waterline. 55E6D379-26C1-496A-BED3-058852C1D5AC.jpeg

Depends if you can bend an aluminum bracket that can clear the side of your cover and not abrade the side of the cover as it opens and closes. You need to mock it up and see how it works. It may take some trial and error to find the best mounting.
