It’s hot outside . My water is warm and myself and 3 kids swim every day. My weird issues are that my fc is dropping very slowly . And my ph can’t go down . I’ve added 3 pounds of dry acid and my ph is the same 😳. I haven’t added liquid shock in 5 or 6 days . It was at shock level at that time . I’m just wondering if this is normal. I’m following pool math and ph is not budging. I add it by diluting dry acid in pool water until dissolved and pour it in front of return. I check my ph with a digital meter and also look at the drop test . Here’s my numbers . Is anything wrong or am i worrying too much. Based on my math my fc is only going down 1.75 ppm a day on average. My cya is like 50 or 60 depending on how good my eyes are working

Remember your pH reading will be skewed (show higher) as long as the FC is over 10. Let the FC fall to 9 or below then re-test your pH. If it is still high, use muriatic acid to lower the pH to about 7.2. Each time you do that, the TA should fall. Your TA of 110 is allowing the pH to rise as well, so lowering the TA should help.

This morning it was below 10 and ph was still high . But I will take your advice and get my ta down. Pool math tells me to lower ph with acid to get my ta down. W

That is correct. We advise to not use dry acid on a continual basis due to potential complications with a build-up of sulfates. We recommend muriatic acid. Once the pH hits 8.0, lower the pH to about 7.2. Each time you do that it should help to lower the TA a little. If you eventually get the TA down to about 60 it should help slow the rise of pH.

Thanks so much for the help. Do you think my fc dropping at the slow rate is nothing to worry about ?

I just bought this . It has baume in it . Is the baume bad. Sorry for the stupid question. Also do I dilute with water before adding
