My jandy variable speed pump won’t turn on and my pool guy says it is a problem with the jandy iqpump01 interface pad that connects to the pump. Is it possible to start the pump without having the iqpump01 interface pad connected to it? It was working fine Saturday and then we had a thunderstorm pass through and after noticed the pump wasn’t running and won’t start. I can’t connect to the iqpump01 in iAquaLink anymore either, it has a red status indicator and says “Connection error - cannot connect to device” when I try to go into it on my phone. My wife and I are having a party this afternoon and it would really be great if the pump would at least run to keep the pool clean. Any help anyone can offer would be extremely appreciated!

Try power cycling it. If the unit itself is not working, I don't believe there is any way to start the pump with what you have. I assume you do not have Aqualink automation?

I'm having this same issue!! Pump turned off. I read something somewhere about a firmware update. So I went in the app, and clicked on the settings and clicked on firmware update (says one is available) but it's been spinning for 2 hours now. Amy help would be much appreciated! Thank you!
I'm on 6.1.107 if that helps.

Did you ever get it to download? Mine is doing the same thing.

I have the same issue and have been fighting it for months now. Only way to bandaid the problem is turn the pump breaker off for like 30 minutes and then power it back on. This is not a solution, just a patch. The real issue is with the $400 to replace controller. I just had this pool put in at the beginning of 2021. I’ve email jandy/aqualink. No one cares about this issue.

I finally got this update to work. Now on 6.1.109. What I had to do was a be by my machine. Put it to maintenance mode. Have my cell phone right next to the module and do the update. It had to have perfect wifi reception or it would crash. It took 3 times and about 15 minutes. My guess is that it is a poor interface so I was doing 3 separate updates, one at a time. Now my unit has been reliable for a week. Otherwise there would be days it would just be off for no reason.

Welcome to TFP! Since no one replied to this thread I wanted to follow up. Did you ever figure it out? If not let us know and we'll PM someone who might be able to help.

If your iqpump01 wi-fi is failing to connect using the iaqualink app, you may benefit from a “reset” of the iqpump01 module. This is done by pressing both the “SVC” and “Wi-Fi to Phone” buttons together for about 5-10 seconds. This apparently erases any previous SSID router names previously used and it’s like having a new (never before connected to) iqpump01. The service tech told me the reset is called the “two finger salute” because you hold down the two buttons indicated above.

Remember to use only 2.4 to attempt your connection and you may need to shut off the 5.0 on your router.

It took me two tries to get it connected, but it has been working fine since.

I hope this helps someone, it cost me $95 service charge to learn!

Apparently there has been a lot of customer wi-fi problems and Jandy came out with a new module with just buttons and no wifi.

Thank you for posting your problem. I had the same issue with my pump and your two finger salute fix worked perfect. Saved me a bunch of money and trouble, Thanks again
