to much sand in my filter?

just did a new liner install sand change and new multi port valve (upper half only) install with a new pressure gauge..

PROBLEM IS I have no air or water leaks with O pressure. not sure why. and I don't think I'm filtering properly

when looking at it today. I had my hand on the filter handle as I bent over to start the pump. when it started I almost fell over because the once firm filter lever (pump power off) went totally limp when the pump came on. and flops with the flick of my finger. but if I turn the pump off again. the lever become as stiff as a ...... lol

do I have to much sand in my filter? I mean I followed. the required amounts section in my manual

All sand filters have suggested amounts and type of sand. Can you post a picture or the specs? Usually about 3/4 full is right. Also make sure you re assembled the MPV correctly.
