I’ve done a lot of reading here, but still don’t quite grasp all the concepts so once I test my pool again tomorrow, (I need more reagents), I’m going to need someone to guide me like I’m in kindergarten. Pool became a swamp after a repair left us without a filter for 4 weeks. Water is now blue, but very cloudy with maybe 4 inches of visibility and the filter does not seem to be filtering out the dead white algae. Teal pool was 3 days ago, blue was yesterday. Since the color change, no difference in clarity. Will post chemistry numbers once I run the tests tomorrow.

What Texas Splash said. Look at that, and hit it with liquid chlorine. It will take time, but it will clear up.
Thank you! I just downloaded the pool math app and I’m spending today reading pool school articles. I blindly dumped liquid chlorine in last night (not caring if I waste it) because I’m fearing that perhaps something is still alive in there and just dying off as fast as it reproduces and figured worst case scenario I didn’t need to do that and just need to buy more. The dolphin is coming up clear with both the filter basket and fine mesh baskets minus a few grains of sand. Backwash is becoming clearer but there’s no difference in the cloudiness to the eye. I’ll be sure to come back once I run my next tests so I can get more specific assistance.

Keep w/ SLAM Process, replenishing fc to slam level for your cya FC/CYA Levels as often as you can. At least 3-4 x’s a day. Vac/brush daily.
Vacuuming to waste can be helpful when the clarity is low & the filter is overwhelmed.
Sand filters are the slowest to clear but it will happen.
Backwash when pressure rises 25-30% over clean pressure.
Taking a pic in the same spot w/ a pole in the water each day can help u see the gradual improvement.

If cya reads 90 or above- Do the diluted cya test to get an accurate level so you can be sure to drain enough.
