Pool was built last year and I’ve noticed a fine separation between the cantilever concrete coping and the liner track. That I assume is expected but in some areas it’s wider and separated like in the pic below. Is this expected to see if there is movement with the pool deck or does this indicate a problem? I’m contacting the pool builder this week to see what they say but wanted to ask here as well.

This looks normal to me. I have the same separation between the track and travertine. After all, metal should not stick to travertine or concrete. I suppose if it becomes a home for ants or other bugs you could caulk it. I would practice first.

Thanks for the replies. Makes me feel a bit better. Is it better to caulk after it separates everywhere? I don’t want to do it piecemeal because it’ll look weird with certain areas caulked while others aren’t.
