Mini-Pebble Color Decision Time

Hi all, this forum has helped me so far in my process, we have been under construction since early April. Im in the final stages and need to finalize my Mini-Pebble color choice. My pool is about 20x30, 6.5 ft deep, 22,000 gallons with attached spa. I went with Veracruz Grey/white waterline tile due to potential calcium build up in my area, & marble accept rock on the raised bond beam & hot tub area. Im trying to attach pictures but am unable to at the moment. My pool is next to our house which is in the sun all day until around 6pm when the sun begins to set & goes behind the house, so the pool will be shaded most of the evening when we will be using it.

I have my pebble choice down to a few colors. Im looking for something crisp & inviting, not too dark or greenish, a true blue, nothing murky or "pondy". we will be adding a few bags of glass to the blend also for the shimmer factor. The colors were looking at are

- Tahoe blue - I like this but my wife feels it will be too dark in the shade & my concern is some pictures do look greenish.
- Aqua blue - My wife's first choice, however I feel this does not go with the overall "aesthetic" of the design of the pool & this may be too light & greenish at some points.
- French Great - Looks good & may look better with our waterline tile choice however water seems more grey rather then true blue.

The current product my PB is offering me is mini-pebble however he says there is a "new" product called "sea-glass" which seems to be pebble with 20% glass. He says its the same stuff NPT has just glass added. If anyone has advice or experience with these colors I would love the help & insight!. I did request to look at any local builds, but the builder did state that it may be a drive to find these colors (2+ hours).

Edit: Pictures uploaded :)

Mini-pebble not pebble-fina?
No advise on the colors, that’ a personal choice.
Are they going to hand throw the glass to insure you get the most exposed of the product?

Very good question! I will ask my PB to see. Attached is a picture of the Tahoe blue sample with glass mixture I was given by my PB. He said it was on the NTP website & cost is the same as regular mini-pebble. It’s whichever preference.

We finally went with that. Like it. There's many Tahoe Blue and bead posts in here if you want to look at sample pictures. But, in my opinion, pictures of water are camera dependent, and the actual pool color will be light of sun dependent, so you could just call it a nice aqua blue in full sun. Shaded, it doesn't look so much anything.

Thanks! Is it very dark in the shade? After 5ish there will be no sun in my pool unfortunately & don’t want a lagoon. 🫠

When we we were at the decision point, we visited recent builds of our PB. One thing I noticed about blue pebble finishes of any named color is that it takes sunlight, or light, to reflect the color in the water. In smaller yards with fence shade, or no sun, they would appear more grey, or just like dark water. If you look at the bases, they are more grey, or light blue with darker blue aggregates. I don't know if true, but my PB stated that grey is what gives blue in sunlight. We rolled the dice and got our blue pool, most of time, but our pool is in full sun all day.

I think Tahoe is the most pond looking, at least in Pebble Tec, not sure about Stonescapes. I love your tile choices. I would go with the aqua blue with your tile. I like the more blue than the grey with the white tile. I think it gives a nice contrast.

Thanks for the feedback!!! Does the aqua have a slight greenish tint to it? I haven’t seen either Tahoe or aqua in person but from what I’ve read some say so. My neighbor has midnight blue and to me it’s WAAAY to dark. Trying to avoid this and that’s my biggest hesitation with Tahoe blue.

I need a decision by end of day today. It’s between aqua or Tahoe 🫣

Our first pic was Midnight Blue, and yes, we didn't care for it in person. I think too one has to get used to the idea that they are getting a range of colors, and not a fixed, all time, same color. We didn't want any turquoise to it, but, early morning when sun is low, there's maybe a ting of it, but then goes to light aqua, darker aqua, to darker aqua by end of day. We love it! That's the problem with color picks. Everyone's pool is not angled to the sun the same, has the same shade, has the same house color to reflect, has the same landscape to reflect, etc......

Trust me, what you finally pick you end up liking anyway! I've read but just one or two "I hate my pool color" posts here or elsewhere.

Yes that’s another concern. There isn’t any greenery in the area however the house is fairly close as pictured & its a Greyish color. Not sure if this would play on the water color or not or make it lighter or darker

Wish it was easier, but I know exactly where you are at this point. Everyone goes through it, and after, it's over! My house is stucco, and to the delight of the neighborhood, it's a dark blue :) Big mistake with fading after only a few years.

If you can see it in person that will help a lot. One of our top choices we saw in person and I thought it looked different than in online pics.

For me, it was hard because I wanted a certain water color but I also considered the look of the pebble itself. I was specific of what I did not want and that eliminated the pebbles that I thought had the best water color.

What did you end up going with?
