New SoCal IG shotcrete pool build - equipment set, Final Inspection Passed, Pebble Done! Salt added. Back deck in process

Now you have to ask yourself this question - IF the tile people do not show up to finish the job will you let them plaster the pool on Wednesday. I am hoping the tile people do show up and do a good job. I just want you to be ready in your head if something goes on like them not showing up.

No tile would mean no plaster, I've waited this long and my priority is to have it done right as opposed to right now. Supposedly the tile guys will be here shortly today. I'm standing by the door like the ugly girl waiting on her prom date that may never show lol 😆.
Solar rack is done as of this weekend and plumbing is routed to it, capped under pressure to assure no leaks. Just need to figure out a reasonable way to pickup 13ft long galvanized roofing panels to deck it then I can install the panels. 20220605_175344.jpg

Okay, I wanted to make sure you have thought it all out so you would be ready for whatever happened! Well done and a good way to think about it.............DONE RIGHT!!

Fly me out and I will run and get the pizza/beer while all of your friends come to help!!! LOL

Tile guys came and fixed the last of the step liner tiles. We then went over options on the tile, It appears the skimmer sunk a bit when they did the concrete which is why there is @1 in under the wall tile line on the right. They can float the Pebble so this blends whereas doing it in the glass tile would be very obvious. (the skimmer had to be jack-hammered out once as the bond beam was out of level putting the skimmer almost 6 inches low) in this case perfection would require jackhammering the skimmer again as well as a portion of the deck which was perfection being the enemy of good enough.

The cracks in the Shotcrete shell are normal for this width of crack.
As far the tile questions I’m not sure if I’m up to speed on the latest decision for the left side of the skimmer mouth, tile or plaster?
plaster does not do good above the water line but that left wall of the skimmer looks like it has been sprayed to match the rocks and if so, calcium at the water line will very difficult to remove in the future.

Left side is the faux rock, i never thought about the issue of calcium deposits 🥺, unfortunately that will be something I have to learn to deal with (or live with as "natural" lol as there is about 20ft of waterline that is faux rock.

Just got the call, pebble is scheduled for tomorrow. He asked for the color again and my address ( a clear sign he's got too much going on) This time though he told me that they don't add the Puerto Rico blend to the mix, they hand cast it. Anything I need to watch for with that?

Applicators tend to deposit more product in the corners than in the field so look out for that and I feel that they can always add more, that’s just me.

Walked out the door just before 6am today for a bike ride and what do you know, plasterers were here already! Plaster is done and they are coming back later afternoon to acid wash and start the fill, exiting times!

Ready for you next job?? Get some socks or dish cloths and duct tape. Put the socks on the ends of your water hoses with the tape. This will help protect your new plaster from the metal ends of the hoses and also filters the water at the same time. Make sure the hoses are placed on the deepest part of your pool. NOT in the spa! Unless you can be there when the spa if filled so it does not overflow into the pool until it is done filling. Do NOT stop the flow of water until the water is halfway up the wateline tiles. Another reason to do the spa last.

They are a supposed to be back this afternoon to acid wash and said wait to start filling until that is complete. I just ordered my test kit from tftestkits since I can't see the pb providing squat 😫 but at least it is almost done!
