Wondering if anyone had to replace the quick connect for the Polaris 280. I ordered a genuine replacement and the new one doesn’t fit on Polaris pool line fitting ( also OEM).

I can push/turn it in with a lot of difficulty but no way can I disconnect it without unscrewing the entire assembly including the fitting.

Manufacturing defect? I suppose I will have just order another one and give it a try

I think you will find that is normal. When new the connection is very tight and you have to have the right technique to push it in and twist it past the clip to get it to pop out.

Hmmm……well the old one didn’t do that. I could easily connect and disconnect it. No way I can do that with the replacement one. I even tried changing the o-ring from the old one to the new one. I’m guessing the new part is ever so slightly larger causing it to not work properly.

It's possible they've replaced the molds (they do wear out over time) and a slight dimension change happened. You might try getting a new wall connector and seeing if it fits right. If it does, just unscrew the old one and put the new one in. Be sure you lube the o-ring...that will help somewhat.

Good idea. I’ll order a new one of those too.

Magic Lube or Magic Lube II?
Original Magic Lube is PTFE (Teflon) based and turns into a sticky mess. Magic Lube II is silicone based and shouldn’t have that issue.
