Hi everyone, my name is Melissa and I will be scouring these threads during all of my free time. I have a 20’x40’ (~35k gallon) inground pool at my home that we purchased in October in NJ. The pool is old (1978) but per our inspector, standard, well-maintained and in good shape.

We took the safety cover off and brought a sample to Leslie’s and I am overwhelmed with our “prescription.” I have a lot of learning to do! I’ll be back asking questions later I’m sure. Thanks for all that you guys do!

At the very least, show us, or tell us, what the pool store tests showed, and what they recommended.

I would not buy anything from them until you hear back from us..

Hi and welcome. This site will put you at ease and soon enough you will learn the basics of pool care that not even the people at Leslie's know or care about. They have one mission and that's to make you keep coming back for more chemicals that you will never need or want in your pool as long as you keep swiping the CC. You must read pool school & order one of the recommended pool water test kits. My preferred one is the TF-100 along with a speed stirr which albeit sounds gimmicky but is actually a magical turning point in the ease of testing your own water. Trust only your testing......Each and every one of us at one time we're in your place but perseverance honed our skills. Soon enough pool care becomes an addiction when you realize the simplicity of it. Try to fill in your signature just as I've done below with as much information as you have on the kind of pool & equipment. Ask away as it's the only way we can help.
