Please critique my SLAM plan (CYA is zero at opening)

Our water is green at opening but I can clearly see the steps. I need to get the pool cleared up by Wednesday because I won’t be home during the day after then to test the water and add chlorine. I think this is doable since I’ve got a fiberglass pool and can clearly see the steps, but I would like a critique of my SLAM plan to make sure I’m doing everything correctly. Here are my current test results:
FC: 2 (was 10 last night)
CC: 1
CYA: 0 (was 40 at closing and we have a mesh cover so this isn’t unusual)
TA: 45 ? (Was purple at 40, bright red at 50)
PH: 7.0
CH: 180 (went down due to rain over winter)
(CYA doesn’t completely dissipate in an hour so I assume there is no ammonia).

Here is my SLAM plan. Please let me know if I need to make any changes. I’ve already purchased all of the chemicals mentioned below.
1. Add 38 oz of Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda to increase PH to 7.4 and TA to around 60. I can add a bit more if I need to increase PH and TA more because of CYA or Dichlor additions.
2. 30 minutes later, add a gallon of liquid CYA to get CYA to around 20 according to pool math.
3. 30 minutes later, add 27 oz of powdered CYA to sock in skimmer to increase CYA to 30 or start SLAM off with 3 lbs of Dichlor shock if it would help to get CYA into he pool faster. (I’ve got both of these in garage.)
4. 30 minutes later, start SLAM
5. Check FC every few hours while awake and bump FC back up to 12 as needed.
6. Brush pool several times a day.
7. Backwash sand filter when pressure goes up 20 percent
8. Vacuum pool as needed.
9. Keep going until OCLT is passsed.

Please let me know if there is anything else I could do to speed this SLAM along.

I would offer a few adjustments:
- You could start the SLAM now the a pH of 7.0, but if you wish to increase it, only go up to 7.2.
- TA color should be bright pink, so I consider your to be 50.
- I'm not a big fan of the powdered stuff. Add some liquid chlorine first. No need to wait. Shoot for an FC goal of 10 and test the FC 10 minutes later. If it held between 5-10 ppm,, that's good and move on. If the FC crashed below 5, increase the FC right away and re-test again in another 10 minutes. Continue this until you are sure the FC is trying to hold.
- Only after you are sure the FC is trying to hold, get CYA right away. Liquid or granular (or both), but be sure to achieve a CYA target of 30. Test again in a day or two. If it went to 40 that's okay.
- Increase and maintain a SLAM FC level of 12. If you find the CYA closer to 40, then increase the FC to 16.

Everything else looks good.

Also hang CYA sock in front of a return and not in the skimmer. If the pump stops you could be making an acid stew in there.

Thanks for the advice. If I only increase PH to 7.2 with washing soda, that only gets me to TA to 52-57. Is that high enough or should I add some baking soda to increase it higher? Can it cause any problems with my equipment or impede progress with the SLAM if PH dips below 7.2 after the CYA is added to the skimmer? I may only need 30 oz or less since I will be adding liquid CYA to get CYA to 20 first so I wasn’t sure if it would impact the PH much. I can’t dangle the CYA in front of a return like suggested because it is extremely windy today and I’m afraid it could end up in the pool.

Is that high enough
That TA of ~ 50 is fine for now. If you want to increase it to 60 you can. Plus, you can always increase the TA later if necessary. No problems for the moment or for a SLAM. Stabilizer has very little impact on pH, so I wouldn't worry much about that either. The pH should climb once you increase the FC to SLAM level.
