Pb is installing equipment and I want the temp sensor in a tee , not drilled thru the pipe. They forgot to install the tee between pump and filter and it would now be much simpler to install it immediately after the filter. Would this pose any issues I am missing? Putting it between pump and filter would require replacement of the union fittings on both the pump and filter which I'd like to avoid.20220512_155048~2.jpg

Water temperature sensor after the filter should be fine.

Your plumbing looks more complex then a nuclear power plant. Make sure with all your valves that the temperature sensor cannot be bypassed with where you place it.

@ajw22 Thank you, yes if I place it immediatly after the filter outlet there is no way for it to be bypassed and I have a solid 2ft run so it should be relatively easy to do.
The plumbing includes the seperate waterfall/slide pump, deck jets and both a heater bypass and a solar bypass.

There are 10k temperature sensors that will thread into a fitting but the ones that come with automation are designed to be installed with the hose clamp. They are also plastic coated to resist the chemicals in the water.
After the filter makes for a longer life for the sensor. If you can drill through a fitting, not just the pipe. That gives more support and the pipe is less likely to deform when the pipe heats from spa use. May need a slightly longer pipe clamp.

I purchased some 1/2 not threaded sensors but they have spade terminals which I'm not sure how they will last so I am going to start with using the cable glands that others have used with success. 20220513_090658.jpg
