I think much like many others, my Hayward lights have failed after a very short period of time. First one failed in 2 months, then 6 and 8 months thereafter for the other two. I'm trying to have them replaced, but my pool service guy is having an awfully hard time pulling them out of the niche/socket. Is there anything I'm missing? It seems to pull in and out about 3 inches or so, but I can't seem to get it all the way out.

Any help would be so appreciated! It's so frustrating!

Was the cable disconnected from the junction box or electrical panel before you started pulling the light out?

I have three of these in my pool, when closing last fall I took them out to blow out the conduit to avoid damage over the winter. They were a pain to get out, in my case the expansion part that is supposed to seal around the light when you turn the bezel didn't go back flat and was getting caught at the back of the wall return fitting. They would come out about an inch the get stuck. That could be your problem as well.
