I just got my TF100 Pro.. My pool was just completed and filled last week. The PB has been brushing it for me and adding about 2lbs of chloring a day this past week. (Salt cell has not been turned on yet) Pool math says my FC and TA are outside recommended range.. I am no too confident I did everything right.. Is it worth re-testing?

FC: 3.5
TA: 40
CYA: 50
PH: 7.8
CH: 400
CSI: -0.29
Temp: 70 F

Don't become a slave to the robot. PoolMath does not know about plaster startup water chemistry.

What start up guide are you following?

Your FC is fine for a startup - keep it at 3 ppm.

Your TA is a bit low at 40 but pH is good so just watch it and as long as it does not drop more it will probably rise.

Your builder should STOP adding trichlor solid chlorine as that is adding acid which is taking down your TA. You should chlorinate with liquid chlorine and control pH with muriatic acid.

Sure. You need 5-10 tries to get the basics down and be less fumbly. I liked to get the bottles I needed out and uncapped in order. Next step to the left, used bottle put down to the right. A quick glance at the instructions for how many drops I needed, grab the next left bottle and go.

Remember, the bottles are completely upside down and only the gentlest of squeeze to let gravity make perfect, repeatable drops. If it takes 2 seconds per drop, who cares. You'll never know you saved that time by rushing it.

For CYA only use the 10s and only a flash of a glance because the eyes will 'find' the dot if you stare. Wanna see the brain play games with you ? Look at your nose and watch it appear. It's been there at least all day. Maybe longer. :ROFLMAO:

How much liquid chlorine do I need to add?

Use PoolMath to calculate chemical doses.

It depends on your current FC level, gallons in the pool, what % chlorine you are using, and your target FC level.

Tell us all that and we can double check what you are doing.

In pool math do I use bleach price calculator? Sorry for all the noob questions.

Here are my numbers please provide a sanity check for me

FC 2.0
24,000 gallons
7.1 % chlorine (See pics, is this the right stuff??)
FC Target 6.0 (Pool Math recommendation)

Pool Math tells me to add 167 oz
or 1 gallon, 1 quart, 1 cup
or 1.3 128oz jugs

Thanks again!

167 oz of 7.1% bleach will add 4.6 ppm FC to your pool. So that is fine.

No need to actually measure that. Add a whole jug plus a third of another. Close enough.

You need to find a source of liquid chlorine. Those two you show appear to be OK -- but it is typically very hard to find a household bleach that does not have an additive.
