Another T15 Issue

My cell is about 7 years old and I just did a thorough cleaning today. It wasn’t in that bad a shape compared to pictures I see online. But prior to cleaning the Power, Check Salt and Inspect Cell LED’s were the only ones lit. After cleaning, it is the same thing. Reviewed the TFP SWG Wiki for answers and found….

Voltage is ok at 32 but Current reads zero.
Salt readings are also zero.

Inspected the thermistor and it looks ok. I have replaced it a few times (not recently) and think I know what it looks like when bad. But I know it can be tricky.

I would love more insights from any members but am afraid my cell is done. Got severe sticker shock when I see they are now running $900. Any thoughts or advice welcome. Thanks.

Find a pool store that tests Hayward cells and bring yours in for a test.

Usually when a cell is bad you have low current and salt, not 0.

O amps and 0 salt is usually a board problem. Did you inspect the solder joints on the K1 and K2 relays?

Thanks for your quick reply. I could not remember the location of K1 and K2 and had not inspected so I went back to the Wiki. Scanning through it I saw a picture that triggered my memory from the cleaning. Attached is picture of my plug. I wonder if this is the problem?35E0BCEF-A5D3-41A6-8216-0E8F77437956.jpeg

Yup, that burnt plug could be a problem.

Been researching and see your point on the K1 / K2. I don’t have time to pull the board today to verify. Since my board is from 2005, I am thinking of replacing it with an aftermarket Optimium for $175 if I find problems.

But do you think the plug needs replacement based on its appearance? Seems like that would be a relatively cheap first step although I have never replaced a plug like that.

I would replace the plug. Nothing good can come from leaving it burnt.

Examine the connector the plug goes into. It may also be burnt.
