Plaster Question

Hi - the PB drained my spa to install a new light and I noticed along the surface underneath the glass tile there were very minor plaster gaps.
Would you have the PB repair this or just leave alone? Would rather not cause more problems

(I find when others fix stuff then I have another new problem on my hands haha)

If you are to look under the tile at the plaster can you see Gunite? If so it needs to be corrected, the plaster is the water proofing for the pool. From these pictures it looks cosmetic only. If patched it will not match and it’s a very small area and only you will know, but now is the time to have it done if that’s what you want.

I would have it repaired. If it’s missing plaster their is a chance that over time the pool water could reach the rebar and start rusting, this would take a long time but a “bleeder“ would be more work to correct. Also I’m one who would not accept that quality of work so the decision would be easy for me, hope this helps, Ray.

Have those voids filled in with plaster or grout.

I found some construction pics:
My pool is 3 years old.
As you see from this pic the gaps in the plasters are over that white area. Is that white area water proofing?
Maybe it's not necessary to repair then?
I think my PB is willing to repair but I am concerned about them causing more issues or cosmetic issues.
I really appreciate your expertise!

The white is part of the brown/white (see picture) coat that is part of the tile installation process. The plaster is what makes he pool water tight.

Understood. Makes sense.

With that said, would you still recommend I get them to fix w/ plaster/grout or leave as is?
Isn't grout porous anyway so water would seep in the back of the tile to begin with?
Sorry, I know this is a minor issue! Just trying to decide if I should have them fix it or leave as it to avoid further potential headaches..

Have them fill the holes. It will proptect your tiles from water getting behind the tiles and eroding the thinset and lossening them.

Grout is like plaster and not porous.
