Hey LemonHead !!

It's fine. It's fully supported by the water underneath. Even further up north many pools look similar and some even look like mushrooms with snow ontop of the ice.

Once the ice melts it will go swampy and stank pretty quick as everything warms up so get rid of the water to make your opening less nasty.

Ice expands up and not out for the most part and you have alot of surface area to go up.

Sooooooooooo many owners cover the pool and forget about it for 5 months. They all look similar. (y)

Once it freezes you are stuck with whatever happens after. I always kept an eye on the extended forecast and tried to drain right before any big freezes so I had even less to worry about when whatever happened happened. But it was mostly for my own piece of mind. Cheaper than going to the Dr for pills to sleep better, I always say. 😁

I read somewhere the pillows are supposed to pop if there is too much pressure.
Said every pillow manufacturer looking to sell a bazillion more pillows. 🤣

There is absolutely truth in your statement and one would certainly prefer the pillow to be the weakest link in the chain. But everybody I know gave up with pillows after several years of popped pillows for most of the off season. Everybody had their own threshold, some took 2 years to give up and some took 10, but they all gave up eventually.

Ha! You are probably right! My pillow is still going strong, but we will see!
