We have to remove a couple water line times in our gunite spa. Any thoughts on how we can remove the tiles without damaging the plaster that they adjoin (pic attached)

Thanks in advance

Use a 4in grinder with a tile diamond blade to make cuts below the tile. You will need to fill in the cut line with plaster when you replace the tile.

Make sure that you use a smooth continuous tile blade like in the first picture and not a segmented or noncontinuous blade.

A segmented or noncontinuous blade will chip the tile.

How many tiles are you removing?? A grinder, even a small 4” wheel, is kind of overkill in my opinion and if you’ve never used one before you could easily ruin you tile or, worse, hurt yourself. An oscillatory cutter like Dewalt or Dremel with a diamond tile blade would work much better for small, precision cuts. It will
be a slower cut which for a few tiles is better. A grinder is like using a flamethrower to fight mosquitos.

It is only 4 tiles that need removed

Then you should rent or buy a tool like this -

It has various different types of blades and scrappers available and can do very precise cutting. An angle grinder would be the wrong tool for only 4 tiles.
