Bypassing Nature2 Vision Pro

I had an onground pool (salt) installed this summer with the Nature2 Vision Pro. Initially it seemed like a good idea, altho the more I look into it, the more I wonder. I have a Jandy salt cell installed directly after the N2 vessel. I am looking for a way to bypass the N2 vessel in case of maintenance, or I decide not to run it next summer. Does anyone know if the port threads on the N2 vessel are a standard thread size? If I got a piece of PVC, and a couple unions that matched the thread on the vessel ports, I could just swap it out for the vessel itself.

The manual does mention a "Spool Piece" that can be used for winterization, or when the vessel needs maintenance. However, I can't find any info on the internet about such a piece and not sure what it even looks like.

Welcome to TFP.

The Nature 2 minerals should not be used in pools. They contain copper and silver which accumulate in water and can stain the pool. The only way to remove the minerals is to drain the water. Over time they do more harm then good.

If your mineral cartridge has been in for a while then just don't replace it. Or this article describes how to open the cartridge and empty out the minerals - Nature2 Fusion - Further Reading

I would just leave the Nature 2 in place with empty cartridges until you have a reason to do some PVC repairs to remove it.

Thanks! Been lurking here for a bit reading some info that's helped.

EDIT: I read the link, will try the hacksaw method if I can't find the blank cap.

Yip, just put in cartridge that is likely empty.

The spool is a unicorn and the threads are proprietary you'll never find a match. If you want to remove it you'll have to cut it and patch the pipe which is easy.
Unfortunately my Jandy SWG generator that is after the N2 vessel is plumbed directly into the union that fits on the exit of the N2. There’s no space to cut off that piece that the threaded collar is on. I would need to have a fitting for the collar to thread onto instead of the N2. When it’s light out tomorrow, I’ll take a picture.

Why in the world would your builder install a SWG right after the Nature2? The Nature2 is available in a saltwater generator and mineral system combined unit called the "FusionSoft". That is what I have. I don't use the mineral section and the saltwater chlorine generator section is identical to the Jandy AquaPure (it is the same company).

The heater is on the left, goes through a check valve to the N2, then the SWG and back to the returns. There’s no pvc pipe left to cut as it was a very tight install.

I also found a Nature2 cap in the garbage when cleaning up the site. Can I use this in place of the cartridge next summer? Or will it leak? I already wasted the $250 (CAD) on the N2 if I don’t use it, looking to not spend more if possible. The only upside is the chlorinater part of the N2 in the event the SWG stops working I suppose.

You will eventually need to replace the ball valve when it begins sticking and the handle breaks. When that happens redo the leg, get rid of the Nature 2, install a heater bypass leading to the SWag and then a 2way diverter to close the line.

Or maybe that crappy Trueclear will fail first and you should replace it with a AquaPure PLC1400.

I’ll hang on to the cartridge and if the grey cap I posted a pic of leaks then I’ll just use it instead I guess.

Cap is fine to reuse I'm using mine still after 5 seasons no issues. Your builder seriously screwed you I hate to say. He gave you one of the worst swgs and could have given you the fusion soft instead. That sucks good luck.
