interesting, I'll keep an eye out for that. I'm shocked it broke? an acrylic backboard broke from a basketball? My buddy had the white then switched to the clear and he's had some problems with the rim becoming loose where it mounts to the backboard. I've read some similar concerns on a number of reviews so keep an eye on that during use. My buddy's neighbor got the clear and that area broke. I'm leaning to the white which I haven't read problems with it. I guess with any product you have some percentage of issues. Admittedly the clear looks better.
Supposedly the weak area is where the bolts mount. My gut tells me his neighbor overtightened and cracked the backboard. Doing some research I've read a series of posts on the mount breaking. I have no idea if the white and clear are two different materials all together but haven't read anything about that on the white. Of course my eye likes the clear. I'm way ahead of myself anyway as I'm staring at fiberglaas shell sitting in my excavation, not backfilled with a foot of water in it that is totally green. PB hasn't been here in 15 days and will come back tomorrow so any chance of this being all done this year and being in a pool to even have a basketball hoop is like being on step 95 in my head and really being on step 4 in reality.interesting, I'll keep an eye out for that. That is awesome to know. Thank you!!I have the same hoop except the slighter smaller version. Am on my seconds season and still extremely pleased and worth the cost. FYI - the pole and mount are the same between versions so one can switch to the larger or smaller backboard should they need.
interesting, the reviews on the site, and on Amazon are extremely good. I love the clear so much.Supposedly the weak area is where the bolts mount. Looks awesome! Can you take out the pole and plug the hole with a cap if you don’t want it up for a period of time?I'm so in love with our new hoop! It’s the Dunn rite clear regulation hoop. I've wanted to replace this piece of junk since we've lived here (5 years). We finally did!! Here’s the before/after.

yes, I can.Looks awesome! Can you take out the pole and plug the hole with a cap if you don’t want it up for a period of time?
it's great! We still love it, no issues at all.I just picked up the clear as well but with the adjustable height and portable base as I don't have a concrete deck to put it in a sleeve. How is yours holding up?
Where did you buy yours from? That's probably what I'll end up getting.Put it up today. It was awesome, my son and I played for like 2 hours in the pool. We didn't get around the world completed without missing one shot in the rotation so constantly back to start over.
Right from Dunn-rite and they had a good sale going. It came very quickly, about 3 days. Easy to assemble just don't over-tighten the backboard to avoid cracking it. Easy to install. One tip don't tighten down the extension arm in place over the water until you put the backboard on. We turned it to the side and attached the backboard and put the net on the rim then turned it over the water and tightened the extension arm bolts. The instructions want you tighten it down before you put the backboard on but then it will make very very hard to install the backboard when the extension arm is out over the water. Literally I think it took us 20 minutes to put this together. It was easy and very very sturdy. its going nowhere once weighted down with water.Where did you buy yours from? That's probably what I'll end up getting.
