What did you do to your pool today?

I drained two inches of water after it rising to the top of my skimmer.

Our weather is playing tricks on me. 13 days ago I added a couple inches because of a lack of rain / evaporation.

Now it keeps raining, and I get to take an equal amount back out.

Oh well.

Yep, me too. I was debating today how much to take out . I ended up draining a little over an inch and more rain is on the way.

I actually added about 2" of water yesterday. For the season, I have added water 3 times. Last year, I went the whole season without adding water.

To reply to my own post, it is now raining. I guess that is one way to get it to rain - add water to the pool.

Drained 2 inches today (yesterday too!). Still raining. Finally caved and put the robot in this morning with a plastic trash bag covering the cart.
I'm so HAPPY for the information on TFP which led to the purchase of an Active 60 from Margaret at Marina which is working flawlessly.

gave up on my half ***ed attemp to do a fast slam. started using a lot of chlorine last week, so I jumped to slam for a couple of days thinking I would stay on top of it that way. uh, no. now really low on chlorine, almost out of drops and have a commitment this weekend. so going to try to hold at maintence level with my last couple jugs until Monday when I can get more. then will start over to the letter. full tests, backwash, pH lowered, soak the ladder brick in 60% bleach/water, scrub everything again and go. sheesh, the water looks great! but lost 3 ppm overnight again. grrrrr

Opened it! Started filling it last night. Finished it up this morning. Got all the stopper plugs out and replaced all the freeze and pump drain plugs. Replaced the valve handles and vacless valve. Closed up the filter and started up the pump. It's been running for almost 4 hours now. Will brush and vacuum tomorrow and check the chem.

Took some ascorbic acid and wiped down the skimmer & weir door. Bright white again. Have company coming over so just putting a shine to things.

Put the robot in to vacuum, backwash done, a bit of chlorine. As @Snoobug said, putting a shine on things before company this weekend.
I'm on the FOURTH skimmer hairnet today. It's sunny, windy, and the elms are shedding. Those hairnets are a huge help in keeping the tree debris out of the pump basket and sand filter.

Pulled out another 8 frogs from my skimmer. About 12 yesterday. Tis the season. :swim:
I used the frog logs last year. They worked great. I used them until I realized they were growing algae on the back sides where it sat against the tile. Pony'd up the cash and bought the critter skimmers this year. They are worth it. Haven't had a frog in the skimmer since, and I'm not worried about algae growing on them.
