Sun went down and tested at 8.0 adding more LC and will test again in a hour. I'll post some daytime pictures tomorrow!
Picture earlier in thread is still cloudy, from what I can tell.Water is crystal clear(Check out my pictures).
No. High pH makes water dull.Does this have anything to do with my PH being low at the start of the SLAM?
We have metal ladders. Wish I seeked more info here instead of the pool company and some YouTube videos.Low pH is very bad for a heater. Sub 7 for extended periods of time. High pH has no effect unless you have very high CH and TA.
No reason to specifically address TA. When your pH rises to 8, lower it to 7.6.
If you have passed SLAM criteria start to add salt and raise your CYA to 70 ppm. Be sure to increase your FC as necessary to keep in target range for the projected CYA.
An anode is entirely unnecessary and has more potential to damage things as the metal from it goes into the pool water. What metal in your pool system are your trying to protect from galvanic corrosion? The heat exchanger is copper, which does not have that issue.
Many, if not most, Pool $tores are more concerned in selling you something than helping you. Be aware of that, be skeptical and you will never again buy something from a PS that you don’t know if you need or not.We have metal ladders.
