Iowa Vinyl Pool

I just got mine quoted and signed for and it was a 8-10 week wait. A bit more than I expected / hoped for but I more than understand with everything else we are all going through.

We had signed a contract & put down a deposit back in Jan/Feb. I had forgotten about this very important step and just called to schedule... 🤦‍♀️

It looks like stress cuts to convince the inevitable cracking to happen where they want it to.

I may have missed it in the build specs...but it looks like with your skimmer and handrail anchors sticking up you are going to get a stone/paver/rock decking.

Yes!!! So the PB told us that 3ft or whatever of concrete was required around the pool and I think it locks the housing for the autocover.

The pavers will go on top. Our landscaper is a unilock certified paver guy. We chose to go with the Unilock Artline Fossil. I think that there will be a decorative border around the coping that will be permeable pavers so water drops underneath them into a tunnel/drain system.

I tried to pick the lightest color of the artline collection which I think is fossil. However it's a newer color and there were not many examples so I hope the choice was good because omg expensive. What if I hate it?!? 🤣 What if it's still too hot on the feet?!? Oh well get on the pool float and enjoy the pool right?!? 🤣

We have the Unilock Beacon Hill, with the Fossil color. Have not had them in long enough yet to see how hot they get here in the blazing Chicagoland sun, but they are pretty light, and look pretty good in my humble opinion. Still in some form of construction here, but here is a look at what Fossil looks like in the Unilock pavers....

We did a tan coping and charcoal soldier course. We are actually adding about 500 sq. ft. more here in the next few weeks, but this is the amount that came with our "package".

We almost chose the Artline, but tieing into our existing patio which is no where close to this, the Beacon Hill just fit best for us.

Here is an Artline Fossil pic we also found when we were researching pavers....

@gingrbredman thank you for posting! The pavers look great and they are a lovely light color! ❤️

I'd love to see pics when you get the additional patio finished!

Also, I think we'll have the same slide! Do the kids love it? (sorry, I made a big assumption there).

No problem! Not very often I come across others who are looking at something we did, and know what its like to struggle with the decisions, so if my build can help someone else out, I'm happy to help!

For sure will upload the pics when it is done. That is really our last step to complete the whole backyard. Once the new pavers are down, everything can come together.

Kids AND the adults love the slide! I have to say, its fast and takes some getting used to. Everyone says "coming in hot!" when they are about to go down. They seem to hit that corner fast and then shoot out to the pool. We are going to add the slide to our automation once the PB comes out to finish the pavers and complete all the punch list items. If you are looking for fun, its great, but if you are looking for peaceful, the slide is loud with all the water coming out. A quick click of a button will allow us to shut the water off when we want to, though getting out and turning a valve isn't the end of the world haha!

Can't wait to see your backyard come together. Been watching this build since you started.

Omg. My kids are super cautious creatures. They're going to have to build some courage to go down! 🤣 Our PB is so old school they don't automate anything (except the lights I think). I'll have to go turn it on and off but oh well!
